WHY A MUSICBOOK POWER II?
What defines a truly great power amplifier? Sufficient output, clean measurements with low distortion and high damping factor, maybe even high efficiency. While all of these are important, they say little about the musical experience it can deliver. A genuinely outstanding amplifier can drive a loudspeaker in such a way that every last nuance of the music becomes audible — effortlessly and with authority.
The Musicbook POWER II is not only the perfect partner for the Musicbook SOURCE II, it also knows how to extract the very best from your speakers. Naturally, it delivers excellent measurements and consumes very little power in operation.
SECOND GENERATION
Externally unchanged, the POWER II introduces key improvements over its predecessor:
In the Musicbook POWER II, voltage amplification is handled by a dedicated analog stage based on a top-tier amplifier chip. The N-CORE module acts as a powerful buffer, ensuring a high damping factor and absolute stability. This hybrid concept delivers significantly better sound quality than conventional Class D amplifiers. We call it a Class A-D amplifier.
TECHNOLOGY TO THE LIMIT
The Musicbook POWER II is a state-of-the-art Class D amplifier. Its "N-CORE" design — short for "Encore" — is nothing less than a revolution. The technical specs are outstanding: extremely low distortion, ultra-high damping factor, and a linear frequency response up to 50 kHz.
Even more important: distortion remains minimal at high levels and in the treble, and the frequency response is completely independent of loudspeaker impedance. The connected speaker performs exactly as it should — under total control. The result is a highly musical, resonance-free and colorless sound experience.
DOUBLE THE POWER
A standout feature of the Musicbook POWER II is its ability to operate in vertical bi-amping mode, allowing one amplifier per channel. Each speaker is then driven separately in its bass and mid/high section. This requires speakers with dedicated terminals for each range. Many loudspeakers respond to this configuration with greater clarity in the low mids and an overall more transparent sound.
Thanks to the ten-step bass level adjustment, the sound can also be easily adapted to your room and speaker positioning.
For All Speakers
- Speakers with normal or high efficiency are already perfectly served by the Musicbook POWER 500.
- For speakers with very low efficiency or impedance, the Musicbook POWER 1000 is the better choice – delivering more than 30 amps of current.
Class D at Its Finest
- The Musicbook POWER II uses the best Class D amplifier technology currently available: N-CORE. It delivers excellent specs for distortion, noise, and damping factor – and above all, it's completely free of tonal coloration. “Wire with gain” sums it up perfectly.
Smart Power Control
- The Musicbook POWER II features intelligent auto power on/off. As soon as music is detected, it powers up automatically – and switches off again after use. Convenient and energy-saving.
High Efficiency
- The Musicbook POWER II consumes less than 20 W at normal volume levels. Its efficiency at medium and high volumes is up to five times greater than that of conventional amplifiers – saving energy and reducing operating costs.
Dual Protection
- The Musicbook POWER II offers comprehensive protection circuits against short circuits, overcurrent and DC at the output. It also features smart temperature monitoring that mutes the amplifier in case of overheating, and automatically reactivates it when the temperature returns to normal.
Sound, Sound, Sound
- Speed, dynamics, transparency and total authority in the low bass – all delivered with ease and naturalness. That’s how to describe the sound of the Musicbook POWER II. Or simply: pure listening pleasure!
