Digital audio data is converted to a DSD signal with femto-clock precision – without using digital filters. This unique technology achieves sound quality that goes far beyond traditional PCM methods. PURE SOUND With the Musicbook SOURCE II, LINDEMANN takes a bold step: all digital input signals are converted via re-sampling into a high-resolution 1-bit signal (DSD 256). Offering 256 times the resolution of a CD, the conversion to analog is performed using simple analog filtering – completely free of digital filters or signal processors. The result of this "deconstruction" of the converter is a fully transparent musical signal: maximum resolution, vivid tone colors, unlimited dynamics, and an entirely new, “real” atmosphere that recalls the best of analog playback!

At its heart is one of the finest DAC chips available – the AK4493 from Japanese digital specialist AKM. The integrated phono MM preamp offers wonderfully musical playback and is identical to the highly acclaimed Limetree PHONO II. The headphone amplifier also delivers top-tier sound quality with ample output power, even for demanding headphones. The power amplifier is technically identical to the Musicbook POWER II, offering control and audiophile performance that far exceed its price class.
